How mobile tracking devices can assist in tracing stolen Bikes
Today, bike theft is an enormous crime market that sees thieves steal bikes in an average of five minutes, and only 5% of stolen bikes are ever found. The bike owner can now combat this with a mobile tracking device that informs bike owners when their bicycle is taken away and the direction it's going.
The issue with the theft of bike tracker prices in Pakistan is the ease at which bikes are stolen and the fact that the majority of them don't have any distinctive characteristics on the bikes. It is impossible to know what happened to your bike after a simple coat of paint at a hardware store and some bright stickers. Up until now, that is.
One of the most recent security tracking devices disguises as a rear-facing light that actually performs. It comes with an electronic device for tracking, a battery, and a SIM card. The device that tracks you, when activated, will automatically send you an SMS message informing the owner that their bike was stolen. You are then capable of tracking it with a basic GPS map application on the internet, for instance, Google Earth.
When the motorcycle tracker is activated, it instantly informs you of the location of the stolen bike and will provide the direction of travel and also if it stays still for more than a few minutes. One issue that could arise is when you do not switch off the device off. If somebody accidentally bumps into it, the device will keep sending texts to notify you to the possibility of theft.
The camouflage design is the best disguise since it appears exactly as a rear light, and can even function as additional light. The flaws result from its open place, however, plans are in the works to have devices that are hidden beneath the seat or inside the tube framework of the bike. However, this could cause issues when switching the battery. There might also be problems in identifying the exact location of the structures, however, technological advancements will likely reduce the chances of locating the bike that was stolen.
But, for the moment, they aren't cheap, but overall, the cost of this technology versus the cost of a costly mountain bike seems to be worth the cost. As with all technological advancements, the cost of these devices will decrease as time passes. The price of bikes as reported by the Environment Transport Association is PS850 therefore this small device could be a big help in reducing bike theft and also helping increasing numbers of recovery.
